I love shirts and this time of the year there is no end of shops telling you about their SS17, that’s Spring Summer 2017, collection and what you should be wearing in the coming months. Men’s shirt brand Frangipani is famous for shirts which are very colourful and look good in a beach bar with a tan. But they also sell classic shirts and have a newly launched linen range for those of us that prefer not to be the loudest shirt in the room.
Influenced by their travels around the world and their interpretations of block and screen-printing techniques, Frangipani’s intention is to make unique shirts, which are both classic and colourful but not too garish.
With their vintage, vibrant style, the celebrity loved fashion brand created a line of men’s shirts instantly recognisable thanks to their eclectic mix of prints and block designs. But without deviating too far from their original intentions they have released classic shirts, available in four colours with beautiful contrast detail along the inner neckline and down the buttonholes at the front of the shirt. This subtle change continues their line of unique, travel-inspired shirts with a bit of flair but is so understated it fits my style perfectly.
Frangipani sent me some shirts to try out and they arrived in this drawstring gift bag. Pretty cool, eh?
Although the shirts are available in stores worldwide, the online store offers Frangipani’s own bespoke measurements for a true fit. The shirts are cut to these bespoke measurements and are slightly fitted to produce a smooth, tailored silhouette.
You need to have something to make your shirts stand out in a very competitive market so all shirts feature Frangipani’s classic collar with a tweak on the back. This subtle but identifiable alteration to standard shirt design makes the shirt immediately identifiable as a Frangipani.
Dating back to 1875, the manufacturing process produces a lightweight, soft, yet strong, cotton. However, the shirts are easy to care for. Best results and longevity can be achieved if you machine wash cold and, if possible, don’t tumble dry.
